I am so humbled by peoples’ kindness. Oliver was up early, and although he is tired, he hasn’t been able to nap. Rose, a nurse from the hospital came a little after nine am to change Oliver’s dressing on his noodle. The plastic tape securing it is so sticky, and it was painful to take off. Oliver has been asking me to take his noodle off, but is not pulling at it himself, which is good. Poor baby. A half an hour after Oliver was done with Rose, he was still pretty teary, but then a care package arrived from my aunt and uncle. Talk about perfect timing! Oliver loved pulling every thoughtful thing out of the box. After lunch we went down to the lobby. (Oliver has a crush on Morgan and Leah the young front desk worker/manager, and likes play peek-a-book with them from the lounge area). So, there we were, Sesame Street on the big screen, Oliver sitting on a couch watching the girls, when two men staying at the hotel walked in carrying HUGE Target bags. I guess the girls had told them a little bit about Ollie and that he loves Hot Wheels, so they went out and showered him with toys! I’m not kidding, this was like Christmas in March! I just put together one of the two huge race tracks for Oliver in the room, and we will save one for the hospital tomorrow. He also has a Hot Wheels carrying suitcase now to put his cars in…I was going to save some of the new cars for him to open tomorrow too, but that was impossible, he is four. :).
People are so kind. So kind.
Thank you, Jeannie, Jim, Erick, Adam, Morgan, Leah…. everyone. Thank You!
(And thank you Mom & Dad, I got my card today too)
