Day +179 Post BMT: Six Months in the Hospital
179 Days Post BMT- We have now officially been in the hospital for more than six months, and Skylar is back in the ICU.
Day +140 Post BMT & Officially Five Months in the Hospital
Today marks Day +140 since Skylar’s bone marrow transplant — and officially five months in the hospital. It’s hard to believe how much time has passed and how much our girl has endured with such quiet strength.
Day +63: Getting comfortable at the hospital
We’re now 63 days out from Skylar’s bone marrow transplant, and we’re still here at Primary Children’s Hospital—no discharge date in sight.
Day +44 — Fighting Gut GVHD
It’s Day +44 post bone marrow transplant, and Skylar remains hospitalized with no set timeline for discharge
Day +36: A Change in Plans
Skylar initially responded really well to her bone marrow transplant—but it’s been a really hard week and a half.
Day +20: Turning a Corner
It’s Day 20 post-transplant, and the last two weeks have truly tested Skylar’s strength—and ours.
Day +9 & 10: Signs of Hope
Although Skylar has been feeling pretty miserable, today brought some encouraging signs of progress.
Day +5: A Tough Week for Skylar, But She’s Still Fighting
Skylar is doing fairly well overall following her bone marrow transplant, but this past week has brought some difficult challenges.
Day -3: As the Days Go On
5/17/25 This morning started off tough—Skylar threw up a few times, and it was clear her body is having a hard time keeping up
Day -4: A Mellow Day
5/ 16/25 Today, Skylar started to mellow out. She’s been sleeping more and keeping mostly to herself
Day -5: A Rough Start, But Grateful for Good Care
5/15/25 Today marks the beginning of an intense phase in Skylar’s treatment. Over the next few days, she’ll be on a combination of three chemotherapy drugs: rATG, Fludarabine, and Busulfan.
Day-6: A Swing, Some Chemo, and a Lot of Care
5/14/25 Today, Child Life brought a swing into Skylar’s hospital room to help her get some of her wiggles out before a big dose of chemotherapy.
Day -8: Rest Day Recharge
5/12/25 Today was a rest day—no medications—and Skylar’s energy came back in full force!
Day -9: Mother’s Day with a Twist
5/11/25 Happy Mother’s Day! Today, Skylar started her infusion of Rituximab
Day -11 Getting Admitted
5/9/25 Skylar was admitted to Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City as she begins the process for a bone marrow transplant.
